He is asking you to write-up a technical summary of your invention.  Once you send that to him, he can provide you with a price quote for him to write and file your patent application.

I had talked to a lawyer because i want to register for a patent. He send me this.

"If you do not have a written description of the possible invention then you may wish to use our attached questionnaire to provide us with the information that we need to provide you with our initial thoughts as to the patentability of your possible invention and (if appropriate) quote for writing and filing a patent application.

We can normally provide a first draft of an application within a couple of weeks of having all relevant information and payment of a retainer"

So what is the draft and what did he meant with it ?

Thank you

Sorry I do not understand your question.  Can you ask it a different way?

What exactly is the draft for patent?

thanks for reply.

The reason why I think I need those materials, because I noticed old exam included questions of claim drafting. so I think it is good chance to improve my claim drafting skill. Other than that  I totally agree with you

thanks

PatentFile Website Questions and Reviews / Re: need for patent bar old exam 90's

Hi Sam,

So much of the patent rules have changed since the 90s I don't think these would be helpful for you and would likely send you in the wrong direction.

I would suspect any practice exams you can get for the past 2-3 years would be sufficient.

Patent Questions and Advice / Re: Research and References
« Last post by Brad on April 19, 2020, 09:23:52 AM »
Hi,

1)  There is no requirement to cite references in the provisional.

2)  I would err on the side of caution and include all your materials/methods you used.  You can list them as "non-limiting" examples if you want but its best to have too much rather than too little in the provisional.
