Research and References

Hey Brad.
1.) I am wondering if in my Provisional Patent App if I need to site references (prior art)?

2.) My invention took a considerable amount of research and experimentation. Do I need to include my experimental methods and results in the PPA?

Thank you !

Brad

Hi,

1)  There is no requirement to cite references in the provisional.

2)  I would err on the side of caution and include all your materials/methods you used.  You can list them as "non-limiting" examples if you want but its best to have too much rather than too little in the provisional.
