Title: Patent applicant on the certificate
Post by: Stella on June 14, 2019, 06:07:06 AM
Hi,
We submitted a patent application without the help of practitioners and we recorded the assignment and updated the ADS naming the company as the applicant (by underlining the added company information) a week before paying the issue fee.
However, when we receive the certificate the inventor is named as both inventor and applicant, and the company is named only as assignee.

Is that because we have to name the company as the applicant in the original ADS we submitted if we want our company to be listed as the applicant in the patent certificate?

Likely it was too late to change the applicant to the company.   If you need to make changes to items like that right before publications there is a special publications tab within Private Pair where you can sometimes get them to make last minute changes prior to publication.
