How do you look up info on a newly files patent?

if it is a utility or provisional
I needed to find out the date they filed.

Last note:

I filed a utility in April 2015
after I filed they decided to copying my invention, thinking that if they changed the color of the light that would be ok. however my embodiment's cover all options etc.
How does one check and report this?

Sorry Sam I usually get an email when there is a new post but never got one for this so I did not see it until now.

If the application number starts with a 62 than this means its a "provisional" and will not publish so you will not be able to look it up online.  Based on my own records, I can guess that it was probably filed around November 1st of 2015 since I have some apps filed around that time which start with 62247...
