verifying that a provisional patent has been received ?
« on: August 15, 2013, 07:04:45 AM »
Hi all and thanks for a wonderful site

I wondered how can I confirm that the provisional has been accepted? I have submitted it thru the EFS and have the Acknowleddgement receipt with EFS ID and  application number. is that enough?

by the way, for people who submit through the mail, what is their acknowledgement?

thanks very much
Lior

Hi,

You should receive a paper filing receipt in the mail (not email) 2-4 weeks after you submit your application.  If you don't get it after 4 weeks I would suggest you call the patent office and they can check on the status for you.   This post  may help:   https://patentfile.org/filed-a-provisional-patent-whats-next/
