File Provisional Application without some implementation details

Hi,
I found a problem in the world, right now this problem is not solved properly(already did patent search, did not found anything similar to it or any product on the market). I know how it can be solved with computer-implemented method. Solution is not implemented yet, itís just a high level design and I want to protect it with Provisional Application. This solution can both be used as standalone one and be integrated in other existing systems. My system itself consists of several components that collect and store some data and one component that is doing fundamental decision in the system based on collected data(parameters). To make this decision some algorithm should be implemented, this algorithm can be implemented in several ways and right now itís not clear what is the final implementation and how each parameter would effect the result that system returns, because system was not tested in real life. The question is, would that be critical if Provisional Application would not have detailed description of this algorithm? Say I will give information about close list of parameters that it takes and result that it should return. Also I plan to describe rest of components in details and how they interact with each other, need to say that those components should also be present and are essential part of the solution.

It would always be best if you could describe in detail how all the parts of the system work and can be implemented.

If you don't fully have the algorithm figured out yet one possible idea would be to file a first provisional now with most of the details and then file a second provisional later which can be the same as the first provisional plus include details about the algorithm.

When it comes time to file the full patent application (the non-provisional) you can link that back to both your first and second provisionals assuming you get the full non-provisional filed within 12 months of your first provisional.

Do you mean sir to include the first provisional completely in the second (a copy with drawings) or only the common parts? What if the second one has some extra developed elements/ideas, should it be alone in a separate application?

I would normally include the first one with the second one and just make sure to add  your new details in when you file the second application.
